Though both the films were running successfully, people were not able to watch the film because of the shows getting cancelled continuously. But due to riots in Bangalore and other places, the screening of the film have been cancelled from Monday afternoon and today also the shows had been cancelled.

The film once again has Ganesh in the lead but also has Ravichandran playing his father. The film is a sequel to the all-time hit Mungaru Male directed by Yograj Bhat nearly 10 years ago. They have now taken up MM2 and this has been confirmed by director Shashank. Gokul Films returned to film distribution business in 2014 and have since then released films like Ranna, Linga, I and Kabali in Karnataka. Gokul Films has picked up the distribution rights of Mungaru Male 2 for entire Karnataka. The film is being scripted and directed by Shashank. Shekhar Chandru is the cameraman, while Arjun Janya is the music director. Neha Shetty and Aindrita Ray are the heroines of the film. 'Mungaru Male 2' stars Ganesh and V Ravichandran in prominent roles. The team will be leaving for Slovenia and will be shooting the songs in the picturesque locations of Slovenia.
